The Rose (Light of Peace: Celtic Carols Supplement)

"The Rose" is a pairing of the carol "Lo How a Rose" with a new setting of the medieval text "There is No Rose of Such Virtue." A director could choose to do this piece with or without the singing of "Lo How a Rose," and simply start at measure 27. To keep with the Celtic theme, "There is No Rose" is set to the Scottish tune "Tha mi tinn leis a'Ghaol" (translated as "The Languor of Love.") It is my hope that providing these extra pieces, including the set of Celtic flavored carol arrangements (available separately) can help directors fill out a full Celtic service, choosing whichever pieces speak to them and arranging them as they see fit in their own presentations.
