Cradle Song (Light of Peace: Celtic Carols Supplement)

"Cradle Song" originally appeared in the full presentations of Light of Peace that occurred at Central United Methodist Church in Albuquerque, NM in December of 2019 and December 2024. It is a reimagining of the beloved Irish song "She Moved Through the Fair." This lilting folk tune naturally lent itself to this reflection on the scene at the manger. Primarily set for soprano soloist, the choir joins for some atmospheric accompaniment at the end of the song. It is my hope that providing these extra pieces, including the set of Celtic flavored carol arrangements (available separately) can help directors fill out a full Celtic service, choosing whichever pieces speak to them and arranging them as they see fit in their own presentations.
